For the 2026/27 season, the adult Epic Pass costs $1,169 and covers Vail every day of the season, holidays included. The Epic Local Pass is $869 and gives 10 days at Vail, Beaver Creek and Whistler Blackcomb combined, with holiday blackout dates.

An Epic Day Pass with Vail access starts at $147 for one day. All prices are from epicpass.com, checked October 21, 2026.

Vail Mountain plans to open on Friday, November 13, 2026. Once you've picked a pass, the next booking is a bed: check Vail hotels for opening weekend, November 13 to 15 or compare Vail hotel rates for your own dates.

How much is the Epic Pass for 2026/27?

The adult Epic Pass is $1,169 for ages 31 and up. Vail Resorts raised prices on October 7, 2026; before that the adult pass was $1,145. These are the season-pass prices listed on epicpass.com on October 21, 2026:

AgeEpic PassEpic Local Pass
Adult (31+)$1,169$869
Young adult (18–30)$929$689
Teen (13–17)$929$689
Child (5–12)$599$455

The young adult price is new this season. Epic Pass says ages are verified after you buy.

What's the difference between the Epic Pass and the Epic Local Pass?

The difference that matters for Vail is days and dates. The Epic Pass gives unlimited skiing at Vail and Beaver Creek every day of the season. The Epic Local Pass caps you at 10 days in total across Vail, Beaver Creek and Whistler Blackcomb, and those 10 days can't fall on its restricted peak dates.

Epic Local's restricted peak dates for 2026/27, from epicpass.com:

  • November 27 to 28, 2026 (the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving)
  • December 26 to 31, 2026
  • January 16, 2027
  • February 13 to 14, 2027

On those dates, Epic Local holders can still buy a lift ticket at the Advance Lift Ticket Rate at Vail, Beaver Creek and Whistler Blackcomb. Epic Local does give unlimited days, peak dates included, at Breckenridge, Keystone and Crested Butte. So if you'd split a long trip between Vail and Breck, it stretches further than the 10-day limit suggests.

The Epic Pass adds things Epic Local leaves out: seven days at Telluride, seven days across the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, and access to European partner resorts listed on the pass page.

How does the Epic Day Pass work?

The Epic Day Pass is a prepaid bundle of one to seven ski days. You pick the number of days before the season, then use them whenever you like, at one resort or several. You choose two things when you build it: which resorts it covers, and whether it works on peak dates.

These are the adult prices (ages 13 and up) for the All Resorts version, which includes Vail and Beaver Creek, as listed on epicpass.com on October 21, 2026:

DaysWithout peak datesWith peak datesChild (5–12), without / with peak
1 day$147$175$78 / $90
2 days$274$326$143 / $169
3 days$386$456$201 / $235
4 days$481$568$250 / $292
5 days$560$662$292 / $338
6 days$641$756$333 / $388
7 days$716$846$375 / $434

Cheaper versions cover a shorter list of resorts. If you buy one of those, check that Vail is on its list before you pay. Only Day Passes of four days or more include the partner resorts, such as Telluride. Epic Day Passes don't come with Epic Friend Tickets or summer lift rides.

Is the Epic Pass worth it for a Vail trip?

It depends on how many days you'll ski and whether you're going over the holidays. Here's how the 2026/27 numbers line up:

  • One trip, up to seven days: the Epic Day Pass is cheaper. A seven-day All Resorts pass with peak dates is $846, well under the $1,169 Epic Pass.
  • Up to 10 days, off-peak: Epic Local at $869 covers 10 days at Vail and Beaver Creek, as long as none fall on the restricted dates above.
  • More than seven days in peak weeks, or two or more trips: the Epic Pass is the one with no limits. It's also the only season pass here that works at Vail between December 26 and 31.

For comparison, Vail's own lift tickets are priced by date. When we checked on September 30, 2026, an adult ticket bought ahead was $202 for opening day and $259 for December 28, and the same December day was $374 at the window.

Our guide to how much it costs to ski in Vail breaks that down, and how to get cheaper Vail lift tickets covers other ways to pay less.

What else comes with an Epic Pass?

Every 2026/27 pass, including the Day Pass, comes with Epic Mountain Rewards. That's 20% off food, lodging, equipment rentals, group lessons and the Epic Mountain Express airport shuttle at participating resorts. Season passes also include five Epic Friend Tickets, which take up to 50% off the window price of a lift ticket for friends and family.

Epic Coverage comes with every pass at no charge. Epic Pass says it gives refunds for personal injury, job loss or resort closures; the terms on epicpass.com spell out what counts.

When should you buy?

Before the season. Epic Pass prices rose on October 7, and the Epic Day Pass page says the deal isn't available later in the season. Vail Mountain plans to open on November 13, 2026, and Beaver Creek on November 25, according to Vail Resorts. Both dates depend on conditions.

If your pass covers the holidays, it makes sense to book the room at the same time: Vail hotels for Christmas week, December 24 to 27 or New Year's, December 30 to January 2. Our Vail hotels directory lists places to stay in Vail Village and Lionshead.
