Vail Legacy Weekend returns on Saturday and Sunday, February 27-28, 2027, celebrating the legacy of Vail and the 10th Mountain Division. The announced program includes a 10th Mountain parade, live music and a Black Hawk helicopter landing, spread across Vail Village and Vail Mountain. The events are free.

Vail Mountain lists the weekend as presented by Discover Vail and the 10th Mountain Division. Full event details, including times and locations for the parade and the helicopter landing, had not been published when we checked.

Music at the base of Gondola One

The weekend's apres at Express Lift Bar ties in: the 10th Mountain Band has the Saturday, February 27 slot and DJ Michael Surface plays Sunday, February 28, both from 2:30 to 5:30 pm. On Sunday morning you can also meet Vail Ski Patrol's avalanche dogs at Henry's Hut, from 10:30 to 11:30 am.

Plan ahead

Late February is peak ski season in Vail, so book lodging early if you want to stay in Vail Village for the parade. You need a lift ticket or pass only for the on-mountain parts of the weekend; the village events are free to watch.
