The ice cream

There is always a core of favorites, among them vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, salted cookies and cream, espresso, cheesecake, sweet cream, something minty, and kid-inspired flavors like pink bubble gum or blue popsicle. Beyond those, Sundae has developed more than 30 seasonal flavors that rotate through the cabinet, such as cake batter, salty caramel brickle, caramelized banana and chai. Call the shop to find out what is scooping today, and ask about dairy-free, nut-free, vegan and gluten-free options.

Sundaes, cones and flights

Slab sundaes include the cookie jar and caramel brownie, plus mountain-shop versions such as malted mint, chocolate peanut butter and a kid sundae with unicorn cone pieces and gummy bears. Classics cover the hot fudge sundae, banana split and a seasonal sundae, and a milkshake built like a sundae. A scoop flight lets you try up to four flavors. Prices and selection vary by location.

Cakes, pints and parties

Custom ice cream cakes and custom pint orders need seven days' notice at the Vail shop; for something sooner, the Joy to Go case holds ready-made cakes, hand-packed pints and ice cream sandwiches. For weddings, birthdays and corporate events, Sundae brings a mobile ice cream cart, and bulk tubs can be ordered for pickup with at least 14 days' notice.
