What is in the store

Clothing covers women's, men's and kids' skiwear, first layers and midlayers, outerwear, sweaters with a dedicated cashmere edit, footwear and accessories. The home side is unusually deep for a ski town: dinnerware, glassware and barware, fondue sets, an antler collection, candles, pillows and throws, and a holiday department of ornaments, Santas and gingerbread houses.

Ski shop, rentals and demos

The flagship lists a ski shop with rentals and demos, so you can rent or test skis and buy the clothing in the same stop. Rentals for Vail are reserved through the online rental form on Gorsuch's website, which is worth doing ahead in peak weeks.

The family behind it

The Gorsuches met as teenagers at the Junior Nationals in Jackson Hole, raced in the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley, and stocked their first store with the brands they raced on. They mailed their first catalog in 1976 and were inducted into the U.S. National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in 2023. David Gorsuch died in 2021.

Gorsuch Ski Cafe

Gorsuch Ski Cafe is the company's second Vail location, opened in 2019 at 254 Bridge Street near the base of Gondola One. It is a café, ski shop and rental counter in one, so it is the easier stop on the way to the lift; the flagship on Gore Creek Drive is the place for a full browse.
