A glassmaker's daughter

Owner Eva Pobjecka grew up in a family of glassmakers in Slovakia, where her parents worked in a factory making traditional stemware and she carried finished glasses to the annealing oven as a teenager. She studied art history, worked with historical glass at Slovakia's Museum of Glass, and spent thirteen years as director of Pismo Fine Art Glass in Vail before that gallery closed and she opened her own.

Artists on show

The roster runs to about forty names, among them Richard Royal, Dan Friday, David Patchen, Shane Fero, Kenny Pieper, Stephanie Trenchard and Tomas Brzon. The small-collectibles artists, including Bob Kliss, Gina Gaffner and Zuzana Rudavska, are the place to start for a gift or a first piece.

Visiting

The gallery is at 122 East Meadow Drive, Unit E-1, on the East Meadow side of Vail Village. Opening hours are not published online, so call before making a special trip, or email the gallery about a particular artist. In the same building, Vail Village Arts shows contemporary painting and sculpture if you want to make a short gallery walk of it.
