Skipper & Scout is a children's boutique that opened in Vail in 2014, with a women's corner alongside. Its look mixes mountain clothes with the coastal classics of the owners' family summers on Cape Cod. The shop is on East Meadow Drive, in the same building as Austria Haus.

It is the stop for parents who packed the wrong jacket or watched a child outgrow a snowsuit before the trip, and for anyone buying a baby gift. The women's rail means adults can shop as well.

Kids and babies

The range starts with babies from newborn to 24 months and runs through toddler and tween sizes, with tops, bottoms, dresses and rompers, pajamas, swimwear and accessories. Brands include Angel Dear, Aviator Nation, Billieblush, Pink Chicken, Quincy Mae, Rylee + Cru, Love Shack Fancy and Lola & The Boys, and there is a Vail collection made exclusively with KatieJ NYC. A plush shop and children's shoes fill out the room.

Women and après

The women's side focuses on Free People and FP Movement, with sweaters, loungewear and dresses. A mountain and après edit, including Moon Boots, covers anyone who needs something warm and presentable for the village in the evening.

Gifts and online orders

The Gift Concierge will choose and wrap presents for birthdays, baby showers and other occasions. Everything ships from the Vail shop, and online orders can be collected in the store. Returns depend on how soon you bring them back, and sale items are final; the FAQ has the details.
