What it handles

Beyond filling prescriptions, the pharmacists give medication counseling and administer vaccines without an appointment, including flu shots for adults. The shelves carry everyday non-prescription self-care items, orthopedic braces and crutches, and specialty lines such as Burt's Bees and JOBST compression wear. The Vail location also rents wheelchairs, which can make a village stay workable after an injury. Opioids and other controlled substances can be dispensed in locking pill bottles at no extra cost, and a safe-disposal box takes unused medications.

Hours and practical notes

The pharmacy opens every day, including holidays, though holiday hours can vary; the exact times are in the FAQ. There is no delivery, so plan to collect in person. Refills can be requested online through a Health Mart account. Vail Health's second pharmacy, in Edwards at the Shaw Cancer Center, keeps weekday-only hours.

Finding it

The hospital's main entrance and emergency department are at 180 South Frontage Road West, with patient parking in the hospital garage, and there is a pedestrian entrance on West Meadow Drive for anyone walking from the village. Once inside, the pharmacy sits across from Starbucks, and the hospital's wayfinding QR codes help if you are unsure.

Where it sits

Vail Health Hospital is the building the pharmacy operates inside: a 56-bed hospital with a 24/7 emergency department and Colorado Mountain Medical urgent care, which means a clinic visit and a prescription can be sorted in the same building.
