Getting there

Eagle's Nest sits at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola (#19), which boards in Lionshead Village, and of Pride Express (#26) for skiers already on the mountain. Non-skiers can ride the gondola up with a valid ticket or pass, so the shop is reachable without skis.

What the shop is for

This is one of nine Vail Sports locations run by Vail Resorts. The network rents ski and snowboard equipment, sells gear and apparel, fits boots, and tunes skis and boards overnight, with tune drop-off and pickup at any Vail Sports location. At Eagle's Nest, expect a smaller on-mountain selection than the village stores; call ahead if you need something specific.

Before you go

Vail Resorts does not publish opening hours for this shop, and it follows the mountain's operating days, so call before riding up for it, particularly outside the main ski season. Book rentals online for the best price; Epic Pass holders get an extra 20% off through Epic Mountain Rewards.

Inside Eagle's Nest

Eagle's Nest is the on-mountain dining building the shop sits in, with the quick-service Marketplace, Simba's Cafe and Upper Crust Pizza; lunch there is the obvious pairing with a shop stop. Bistro Fourteen, the bistro and full bar, is in the same building, and Epic Discovery, the summer activity area, is based at Eagle's Nest.
