Vail America Days is the town's Fourth of July celebration, and in 2027 the Fourth falls on Sunday, July 4. The 2027 program had not been announced when we checked, so the details below follow the 2026 celebration, which the organizers describe as the region's largest parade. Check the official page for this year's times before you plan the day.
The parade
In 2026 the parade started at 10 am at Golden Peak and finished around noon in the Lionshead Mall. The route ran west on Vail Valley Drive, along Hanson Ranch Road and Bridge Street, west on Gore Creek Drive, across the International Bridge and along Meadow Drive into Lionshead. Floats came from local groups, along with marching bands, and the VFW invites any veteran to walk with it. Arrive early for a spot along the route.
The Patriotic Concert
The afternoon concert at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Ford Park is a separate ticketed event. In 2026 it started at 2 pm with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the lawn was free and first come, first served, reserved pavilion seats cost $35, and proceeds went to the Vail Veterans Program.
Fireworks
The town plans an evening fireworks show from Vail Mountain, but it is called off when fire restrictions are in place. The 2026 show was cancelled under Stage 2 fire restrictions, as it had been in 2021, 2018, 2012, 2006, 2002 and 1998, so check the official page close to the date. Personal fireworks are never allowed in Vail.
Good to know
The town's 2,500 garage spaces usually fill before the parade starts, and in 2026 the in-town buses stopped from 9:45 am to 12:30 pm while the route was closed, so plan to walk the last stretch. Alcohol is not allowed on the streets, and a curfew applies to anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian from 10:30 pm on July 4 to 5 am on July 5. Dogs are not allowed in Ford Park.
Details checked against the organizer's official page on October 7, 2026. The 2027 program has not been announced; confirm with the organizer before you go.
