The 33rd annual Vail Jazz Festival takes place over Labor Day weekend, Friday, September 3 to Sunday, September 5, 2027. Vail Jazz, the nonprofit behind it, has presented jazz in Vail since 1994, and the festival keeps the three-day Labor Day party format it started with.

Where it is

Vail Jazz lists Manor Vail Lodge as the festival venue, with the Jazz Tent set up in the lodge's gardens facing Golden Peak. The lodge is at 595 Vail Valley Drive, an easy walk east of Vail Village along Gore Creek, so you can stay in the village and walk to each set.

Line-up and tickets

The 2027 artists, the schedule of sets and ticket prices had not been announced when we checked; the organizer asks fans to stay tuned. Previous festivals have followed a packed party format with shows from Friday into Sunday, so expect several sessions a day once the program is out. Tickets for the 2026 festival were sold through the Vail Jazz website, and the 2027 sale is expected there too.

Plan the weekend

Labor Day weekend is one of the last busy weekends of the Vail summer, so book lodging early. Early September evenings in the mountains turn cool once the sun drops, so bring a layer for the later sets. Vail Jazz also runs education programs, including the Vail Jazz Workshop for young musicians and Jazz Goes to School.
