The Vail Sportsmanship Tournament is a youth hockey tournament run by the Vail Mountaineer Hockey Club, and this fall it returns to the renovated Dobson Arena in Lionshead for its final three weekends: November 6-8, November 13-15 and November 20-22, 2026. Games are split between Dobson and the Eagle Pool & Ice Rink, about 30 miles west.

If your family is coming to Vail with a team, or you simply want to watch young players on newly reopened ice, these are the weekends to know.

Divisions at Dobson

• November 6-8: 14U (Bantam) A
• November 13-15: 12U (Pee Wee) A and B
• November 20-22: 10U (Squirt) A and B

Earlier weekends for 18U/16U and 14U B are played elsewhere in the valley. Every team is guaranteed four games. The tournament is sanctioned by USA Hockey and the Colorado Amateur Hockey Association.

For teams and families

Team registration is first come, first served, and several divisions were already full when we checked. Each division's page on the club site carries its own lodging links, so families should book through those if the team has a block.

Watching

The club does not publish game times or a spectator price on its tournament page; schedules are usually released to teams closer to the weekend. Dobson is a short walk from the Lionshead Parking Structure. The arena reopens to the public with a concert on November 28.
