What you can rent

There are two packages. Demo is the newest top-tier gear; Performance is a step down in price but still current. Skis come from brands including K2, Atomic and Faction, and helmets rent separately for skiers 13 and over. There is no entry-level beginner fleet.

Walk-in and online prices differ, and reserving online takes 20% off the package rate. The FAQ has both sets of figures.

Staying at the Mountain Haus

The shop exists partly for the building's guests. Mountain Haus guests can ask about in-room fittings, which move the sizing to the evening before, and receive discounts and free storage on ski rentals.

Tuning and lockers

The tuning bench handles everything from a quick wax or sharpen to base repair and new binding mounts. Seasonal lockers are also available for skiers who keep their own gear in Vail.

Inside Vail's Mountain Haus

The shop operates inside Vail's Mountain Haus, the lodging at 292 East Meadow Drive, and is open to everyone, not only hotel guests. Rooms are booked through the Mountain Haus; the ski shop takes its own reservations online or by phone, and guests should mention their stay to ask about in-room fittings.
