Printed in-house

Charlie's does its own screenprinting and embroidery, so most of what is on the racks is its own design rather than generic resort stock. Expect arch and mountain designs, appliqué hoodies and crews, and new designs released through the season, which the company announces on its Facebook and Instagram pages.

What is on the racks

Short- and long-sleeve tees, ladies' tops and performance wear sit alongside sweatshirts and hoodies, polar fleece jackets, quarter-zip pullovers and vests. Hats, bottoms, stickers and smaller souvenirs fill in the gaps when you need a last-minute gift.

Ordering from home

The full range is also sold on the Charlie's website, and the company takes orders by phone, so a design you did not have room for in the suitcase can follow you home. Its Denver and Boulder stores run a separate Colorado site, CharliesColorado.com.

Finding the Lionshead shop

This is the Lionshead store; Charlie's also has two Vail Village shops: one on Gore Creek Drive and Vail Gear on Bridge Street. The Lionshead store is at 641 West Lionshead Circle, at the west end of the Lionshead Mall and a short walk from the Lionshead lodges and the Lionshead Village plazas. Lionshead Liquors is next door, handy if the souvenir run and the grocery run happen together. Store hours are not posted online, so call before a late visit.
