The menu

Prime filets, a New York strip and bone-in and boneless ribeyes anchor the menu, and any steak can add a Maine lobster tail. Around them sit a rack of lamb, braised short rib, Chilean sea bass and halibut, a smash burger, and starters such as lamb chop fondue and tuna tartare. Sides are ordered separately: truffle fries, macaroni and cheese, Olathe street corn, crab fried rice. Expect big-city steakhouse prices; the FAQ has examples.

The rooms and patios

The restaurant covers nearly 5,500 square feet in three interior spaces: a quieter formal dining area that groups can reserve, a larger casual room built around a lively bar, and a covered outdoor patio for 22 that is used year-round. A larger open patio adds cocktails and casual dining when the weather allows, and après ski on the patios is part of the winter routine.

Groups and private parties

Elway's private dining planners handle parties from 8 to 175, so a rehearsal dinner, a company group or a family reunion can be seated in one booking. Call or email the restaurant to plan a menu.

Before you go

Dinner is served nightly, and tables are booked through OpenTable or by phone. Hours have differed between the restaurant's and the lodge's websites, so check the FAQ and confirm when you book. Parties of six or more carry an automatic 20% gratuity.

Inside The Lodge at Vail

Elway's is one of two restaurants in The Lodge at Vail, Vail's first hotel, at 174 East Gore Creek Drive. The lodge's other dining room is Cucina, its seasonal breakfast room and fire-pit bar, a few steps from Gondola One. Lodge guests and visitors alike can book Elway's.
