Rooms and suites

Room types run from studios and standard rooms to luxury rooms, an executive suite and one-, two- and three-bedroom condos. The 46 suites have wood-burning fireplaces and walk-out balconies, and rooms look toward the mountain or the village. Housekeeping comes on alternating days, and room service is seasonal.

Pool and the ski day

There is an outdoor pool with a lounge and poolside bar, two outdoor hot tubs, wet and dry saunas and fire pits. A ski and bike valet and a ski concierge handle equipment, and the free local shuttle and town bus route make Lionshead an easy trip without the car.

Before you book

Parking is valet-only at a nightly charge, and a limited number of rooms take pets for a one-time fee; the condos do not. The front desk is staffed around the clock. Rates, fees and pet terms are in the FAQ below.

Weddings and groups

The mountainside ballroom covers 5,500 square feet, which the lodge says is Vail Village's largest, with picture windows facing the mountain. Smaller boardrooms and a terrace handle meetings and receptions, and Cucina can be booked for private breakfasts and dinners.

Restaurants and spa at the lodge

Elway's is the lodge's steakhouse: USDA prime steaks, Colorado lamb and fish, a wine list of more than 350 bottles, and covered and sunny patios for après. It suits a celebration dinner or a drink straight off the hill, is open to non-guests, and takes reservations online.

Cucina is the lodge's breakfast room and bar, a few steps from Gondola One: breakfast before the lifts, weekend brunch in summer, and in ski season coffee in the morning and cocktails by the fire pit. It runs seasonally, so check its hours before you go.

The RockResorts Spa at The Lodge at Vail has 11 treatment rooms, including a couples room with a soaking tub for two, plus locker rooms with steam rooms and whirlpools. The 24-hour fitness center, with a studio for yoga and Pilates, sits just above it. Book treatments by phone or through the spa's request form.
