About

The Willows is a boutique condominium building at 74 Willow Road in Vail Village, a few minutes' walk from Gondola One. It was completely redeveloped in the early 2000s, and its rental collection is small: nine two-bedroom residences and one three-bedroom.

What sets it apart from most Vail condos is the service layered on top: a front desk, a concierge, daily housekeeping and a lobby espresso and hot chocolate bar. Central air conditioning and in-unit washers and dryers are also unusual in the village. It suits two couples or a family of up to six who want a real apartment with hotel-style help.

Location and lifts

Willow Road runs along Willow Park on the quieter edge of the village, and Gondola One is a short stroll. It is a walk to the lifts, not ski-in/ski-out; ski storage is handled in town, as below. Shops and restaurants are all on foot, so the car can stay in the garage.

The residences

Each two-bedroom sleeps six. The three-bedroom, unit 304, sleeps eight and has Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, a gas fireplace, a bunk room and two tandem spaces in the underground garage. Many residences have recently been refreshed, and all have L'Occitane bath products.

Hot tub and services

A 22-person courtyard hot tub is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., shared with guests of the sister building. The concierge books restaurants, grocery delivery, lift tickets, ski rentals and airport transfers.

Before you book

A $50 nightly resort fee covers one parking space, Wi-Fi, ski and bike storage, lobby snacks, housekeeping and concierge. The terms are strict: a 25% deposit at booking and no refunds once paid. Connected establishments

Riva Ridge South: the sister building at 114 Willow Road, run by the same Willows Management Company, with one- to four-bedroom condos about 150 yards from Gondola One. Its guests share The Willows' courtyard hot tub, and its resort fee is lower, so ask about both when dates are tight.

American Ski Exchange: a ski shop in the village, not in the building, that stores Willows guests' own gear free of charge and rents equipment. In high season it opens 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., so you can sort rentals the evening you arrive.
