Rooms, suites and residences

The hotel bills its guest rooms as the largest in Vail Village; all have gas-burning stone fireplaces, and most open onto a furnished balcony or terrace. The specialty suites include in-room breakfast, laundry service and a stocked minibar. The 23 private residences have full kitchens and living rooms, and stays of a month or more come with extra benefits such as airport transfers and parking for one car.

Skiing from The Chalet

The hotel is not on the slopes. It markets a ski-in, ski-out experience through The Chalet, its three-storey guest facility at the base of Gondola One, reached by a short walk or the hotel shuttle. Staff carry your gear there, warm your boots in a personal locker and meet you near the gondola at the end of the day. The Chalet closes in spring and from Labor Day to mid-November.

Families

Children under five eat free at Tavernetta Vail and The Remedy, and the hotel provides kids' toiletries, childproofing, high chairs and playpens, plus a teen lounge, storytime and holiday events. The concierge books ski lessons and babysitting, and a complimentary shuttle runs around Vail Village.

Weddings and groups

There are about 9,600 square feet of indoor event space. The Bighorn Ballroom takes up to 300 for a reception, and the Pool Terrace is used for ceremonies and cocktail hours. Tavernetta's private room, Il Duomo, seats 30 for rehearsal dinners, and The Chalet doubles as a getting-ready suite.

Before you book

Parking is underground valet only, and a resort fee applies; neither rate is published. Small pets under 25 pounds are allowed in hotel rooms but not in the residences. Two accessible room types are offered. The FAQ below has check-in times, hours and policies.

Restaurants, bar, café and spa inside the resort

Tavernetta Vail: the resort's Italian restaurant, with handmade pasta, an all-Italian wine list and a Spritz Window serving cocktails through a hatch each afternoon and evening. It serves breakfast and dinner daily and a Sunday brunch with a mimosa cart. Non-guests are welcome; book through the resort.

The Remedy: the resort bar and restaurant, with floor-to-ceiling mountain views, a firepit patio open year-round, live music at après and late hours Thursday to Saturday. It suits après-ski, casual lunches and game nights.

Speyside Café: an intimate café for coffee, tea, boba, sweets and seasonal bites, with free coffee for guests early each morning. It also hosts seasonal culinary workshops.

Pool Bar: food and drinks beside the heated outdoor pool, with s'mores by the fire and the hotel's Haute Chocolate. Its S'mores House can be booked for a private firelit dinner.

In-Room Dining: served around the clock, from breakfast on the balcony to late-night orders.

The Spa: recently renovated, with 13 treatment rooms, two couples' suites, a relaxation garden, hot tub, cold plunge, sauna and steam room. Book through the spa desk.

The Chalet: the guest-only ski lounge at Gondola One described above, with a top-floor lounge serving breakfast and afternoon bites, Venture Sports rentals and tuning on the main floor and lockers below. Residence-rental guests have access too.

The Vail Outpost: a small alpine boutique selling heritage brands and seasonal clothing in the hotel's retail lobby corridor.
