Who plays

Owner Scott Rednor spent 15 years touring as a guitarist with acts such as Blues Traveler, Dave Matthews and Lenny Kravitz before settling in the valley. Many nights feature the Shakedown Family Band, a rotating roster with players from groups like JJ Grey & Mofro, Circles Around the Sun and Dopapod, and well-known musicians sometimes drop in for a surprise set.

A night at Shakedown

Doors open at 9 p.m. on show nights, the music typically starts 60 to 90 minutes later, and sets run until around 1:30 a.m. The venue holds 198, and a remodel added a new sound and lighting system with full recording and streaming. The bar also puts on occasional earlier après shows.

Drinks

The bar pours a short cocktail list, from an espresso martini to a Negroni, a deep tequila shelf and beer-and-shot combos such as The Teddy, a Peroni with a Jameson.

Plan ahead

The schedule changes with the seasons, and in the fall shoulder season many nights are dark, so check the calendar before walking up. Can't make it? Shows are streamed and archived on the Shakedown Presents YouTube channel.
