Demo skis and packages

The demo fleet is replaced each year and freshly tuned each time it goes out. Brands include DPS, Atomic, Elan, Dynastar, Head, Nordica and Salomon, with Look and Marker bindings, Salomon snowboards, and Hestra, Oakley and Smith for gloves and eyewear. Packages cover men's and women's demos, beginners, juniors and snowboards, all with boots and poles, and ski jackets and pants can be rented too. Rates are per day, and booking online is noticeably cheaper than walking in; the FAQ has the figures.

DPS and the tune shop

For the 2025–26 season Troy's is the only official DPS dealer in Vail Village, so it is the place to demo a DPS ski before buying one. The shop also has the village's only DPS Phantom curing station, which applies a permanent, wax-free base treatment. Behind the counter sit a Montana Crystal S stone grinder and an HTT 3-D edger, which is serious equipment for a shop this size.

Ski storage and the Skiers Club

Storage is sold as a season-long Skiers Club membership in three levels. The entry level reserves a spot on the boot dryer for one pair of boots and storage for two pairs of skis, which suits second-home owners and anyone skiing Vail most weekends more than a one-week visitor.

Before you go

Troy's keeps limited hours and closes Sundays and Mondays in summer, so call ahead outside the ski season. Guests of Tivoli Lodge and Christiania Lodge get their own discounted rental rates, and the online store sells skis, pickleball paddles and gift cards for pickup at the shop or shipping.
