Winter and summer rentals

In winter the shop fits skis, snowboards and boots; in summer the focus moves to bikes, with downhill and enduro mountain bikes, path bikes and e-bikes. True North also sells technical and resort clothing, jackets, pants and accessories for on- and off-mountain days, so it doubles as a place to replace forgotten gloves or goggles.

Getting to the lifts

The shop is a minute's walk from The Hythe's lobby, and the Eagle Bahn Gondola is a few minutes' walk from the hotel. That is convenient rather than slopeside: plan on a short walk in boots, or use the hotel's winter ski valet if you are a guest.

Booking and discounts

Epic Mountain Rentals advertises savings of up to 20% for booking online in advance, and Epic Pass holders get a further discount through Epic Mountain Rewards. Some of the network's locations offer complimentary rental delivery; ask whether it applies to your lodging. Current prices appear only in the online booking flow, so check there rather than relying on a posted rate.

Where it fits

Choose True North when you are staying at The Hythe or nearby in West Lionshead and want pickup close to your room. Guests in Vail Village will usually find a rental shop closer to Gondola One.

At The Hythe
