Rental packages

Packages are tiered by ability. Sport skis are for beginners and cautious skiers; High Performance is demo-quality gear for intermediate to advanced skiers; the Demo package is current, top-of-the-line equipment that can also be tried before buying. There are junior packages for children up to 100 pounds, snowboard packages, helmets and Atlas snowshoes. Brands include Rossignol, K2, Blizzard, Head, Salomon, Nordica, Volkl, Atomic, Kastle and Never Summer. Posted rates already reflect the online reservation discount and include an accidental damage waiver, and prices drop for longer rentals.

Storage

Rental customers store skis and snowboards at the shop for free, so there is nothing to carry back to your lodging at the end of the day.

Tuning and repair

The repair team has more than 60 years of combined experience, and the shop runs a Montana Crystal Inline tuning machine that can reproduce a factory base finish or cut a structure suited to the conditions. Work ranges from a hot wax to binding mounts and torque testing.

Boot fitting

Certified boot specialists handle fit problems and customisation, with Superfeet custom footbeds available. That is worth knowing if a boot starts to hurt on day two rather than at the end of the trip.

Vail Bike Tech, the summer shop

Vail Bike Tech is the same locally owned business in the same Lionshead Mall space. In summer it rents mountain, road, kids' and e-bikes, repairs bikes and runs shuttle rides from the top of Vail Pass. See that listing for summer rates.
