The Nepali side

The Nepali choices are the reason to come. Momo, the steamed dumplings of Nepal, come filled with chicken or spiced vegetables, and chau chau are pan-fried noodles with vegetables, chicken, lamb or shrimp. Nepali-style chicken and lamb curries appear on the lunch menu, and a spiced milk tea, cheeya, is on the drinks list.

The Indian classics

Alongside them are the familiar dishes: chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, dal, chana masala, lamb and chicken from the tandoor, and naan from plain to garlic, cheese, onion and keema. The vegetarian section is long, dishes can be made vegan for a small charge, and papad is marked gluten-free.

Lunch, dinner and getting there

Annapurna serves separate lunch and dinner menus, both posted on its website. Either village is a short walk away, and the free Town of Vail shuttle runs past the lodge. For bookings or questions, call or email the restaurant.

Inside The Evergreen Lodge

The Evergreen Lodge at Vail is the hotel that houses Annapurna, with hotel rooms, condos, a hot tub and saunas, and a summer pool.

Altitude Bar and Grill is the lodge's other restaurant, a sports bar with 19 TVs, wings and burgers. It suits the half of the group that wants the game on.
