The menu

Expect salads, sandwiches, entrées and handmade pizzas, with cocktails, wine and beer from the bar. Pizza dough and pasta are made in house. The menu is short and approachable rather than ambitious, which fits a place most people treat as their local.

The room

Seating runs over two levels, with tall ceilings, big windows and tables by the fire. It works for families and groups as well as a couple stopping in for a drink.

Take it home

Food, cocktails, wine and beer are all available to go by phone, which helps in East Vail, where many visitors stay in condos and there is little else nearby.

Before you go

Après Cafe opens seasonally, from early December through April and again from late May through October, and closes between seasons. It keeps evening hours and does not take reservations, so check the FAQ for the posted schedule and call ahead for a large group.

Where it sits

The cafe is on the grounds of Vail Racquet Club Mountain Resort, 4695 Vail Racquet Club Drive, and serves resort guests and outside diners alike. The resort does not run it, so questions about menus, hours and groups go to the cafe directly. From Vail Village it is a drive or a bus ride east.
