How it works

Each kitchen has its own counter and menu, and the bar pours for the whole hall. Before you go, a live camera on Avanti's website shows how busy the room is, which is useful on a powder day or a sunny afternoon.

The bar

The bar menu runs to house cocktails such as the Golden Peak Spritz, around eight draft beers, most of them from Colorado, plus canned beer, seltzer, cider, wine and a real non-alcoholic list, including frozen drinks. Happy hour runs all day on Mondays and in the afternoon Tuesday to Thursday, and Wednesday is free trivia night.

Private events

The space can be booked for private events for a rental fee, with a separate Vail catering menu. Enquiries go through a form on Avanti's website, and the events team aims to reply within 48 hours.

The kitchens

Backyard Burgers makes double smash-patty burgers with hand-cut fries, including a salmon burger. A safe bet for children and big appetites.

Boychik is the Mediterranean counter: dips, hummus bowls with shawarma, lamb or falafel, and salads, much of it gluten-free or vegan. The lightest meal in the hall.

Capriata serves New York-style sourdough pizza, sandwiches and salads, from Chris and Ariana Teigland, the couple behind the Michelin-recognized Glo Noodle House. The pick for pizza.

Glo is a Japanese kitchen with ramen bowls, hand rolls and small plates. Good for a warm bowl after skiing.

Taqueria del Oro covers street tacos, ceviche, nachos and quesadillas. It pairs with a margarita on the patio.
