Barrio Social
About
Barrio Social brings the food of Spain and Portugal to Vail Village: tapas and pintxos, hand-sliced jamón, plancha-grilled dishes, regional cheeses and paella, with a drinks list of Spanish and Portuguese wines, ciders, sherries and ports. It comes from the team behind La Bottega and Delizioso, and it was named to the 2026 DiRōNA list of Distinguished Restaurants of North America.
It is built for sharing, so it suits friends ordering across the table, après groups who want a patio, and families planning a rehearsal dinner or a celebration.
The menu
Start with pan con tomate, gambas al ajillo or Galician-style octopus, then move to sliced Ibérico bellota, a seafood zarzuela or a prime picanha steak. The paellas, seafood or Valenciana, are made for two and take about 40 minutes, so order them early. A daily three-course prix fixe is the simplest way in, and there are vegetarian dishes such as a whole roasted maitake mushroom.
The patio and après
The restaurant opens in the afternoon, which makes it an après stop as well as a dinner room. The dining room is contemporary and Mediterranean in feel, and big sliding doors open it to the patio, one of the most inviting in the village. Cocktails lean Spanish, from gin and tonics to a carajillo.
Groups and private events
There are three ways to book a group: a private upstairs dining room for 10 to 30, an Après Social package that joins the dining room and patio for up to 55 with paella and charcuterie stations, and a full buyout for up to 65, plated or family-style. That makes it a natural fit for rehearsal dinners and corporate evenings. Regular tables are booked online.
Sister restaurants
The same team runs La Bottega, the long-running northern Italian restaurant on Meadow Drive, and Delizioso, its European-style market and deli next door. Choose La Bottega for pasta and a deep wine list, and Delizioso for coffee, pastries and picnic supplies.
