About

Cedar is one of two Bluegreen Vacations buildings, with Aspen, at Bluegreen's StreamSide at Vail, a timeshare resort beside Gore Creek on the South Frontage Road in West Vail. It sits on a larger shared campus with other timeshare and hotel operators, well west of the villages, and rents its suites to the public as well as to Bluegreen owners.

It suits families and pairs of couples who want a lot of beds and two bathrooms, and who are happy to take a shuttle or bus to the lifts. The one-bedroom-with-loft suites are the draw: sleeping space for eight in about 1,200 square feet.

The suites

The recently renovated one-bedroom suite with loft has a king bedroom with its own bathroom, a loft with two queen beds and a second bathroom, and a queen sofa bed in the living room. The one-bedroom suite, about 800 square feet, sleeps four with a king bed, a sofa bed and two full bathrooms. Both have full kitchens, smart TVs, ceiling fans and free Wi-Fi. While renovations are finished, fireplaces and cable TV are out of service, and there is no air conditioning.

On the campus

The clubhouse holds registration, a lounge, a fitness room, a kids' game room and indoor basketball and racquetball courts. There is an indoor/outdoor heated pool with hot tubs, a separate hot tub, grills and fire pit by the Aspen building, free guest laundry, and bike rentals for Cedar and Aspen guests.

Getting to the mountain

StreamSide is not walking distance to the lifts. The resort runs a complimentary shuttle to Lionshead and Vail Village, and the free Town of Vail bus serves the valley year-round, so a car is optional once you arrive.

Before you book

Cedar units are reached by two to six flights of stairs and there is no bellhop, so it is a poor fit for anyone who cannot manage stairs with luggage. Pets are not allowed, guests must be 21 to check in, and on-site parking carries a daily charge for one vehicle per unit. Details are in the FAQ below.
