Skis and snowboards

The winter fleet covers demo and performance skis for adults, junior skis, demo and performance snowboards, helmets and snowshoes, with brands including Atomic, Blizzard, Nordica, K2 and Never Summer. Booking online at least 24 hours ahead takes 20% off the walk-in rate, and there is no walk-in discount, so reserving is the way to save. Reserved gear is pre-tuned and labeled, and you can collect it after 1 p.m. the day before your first ski day.

Summer bikes

In summer the same counter rents comfort cruisers, e-bikes and kids' bikes. The Gore Creek recreation path passes close by, so you can ride east into Vail Village or west toward Avon without loading a car.

Before you book

Online reservations take a 20% deposit that is applied at pickup, and cancellations need 24 hours' notice. Hours change by season. The FAQ lists rates, hours and the cancellation terms.

The lodge around it

Lion Square Lodge lists the Charter Sports shop among its amenities, along with complimentary ski valet storage, and describes itself as ski-in/ski-out in the ski yard beside the Eagle Bahn Gondola. Charter's other Vail shops include Highline Vail in West Vail and Marriott's StreamSide.
