Where it is

StreamSide is on South Frontage Road just off the West Vail exit, well west of the villages. Charter says the resort runs a free guest shuttle to Lionshead, Vail Village and Golden Peak, and the free Town of Vail bus also serves the property, so your rentals travel with you rather than living at the base.

The gear

Skis come in demo, performance and sport tiers from brands including Atomic, Stöckli, Blizzard, Head, K2, Nordica and Rossignol, with Never Summer and Evo among the snowboards. Junior skis and boards cover kids 12 and under, and every helmet rental comes with a free liner. Prices are in the FAQ.

Booking and swaps

Reservations are not required, but gear booked online at least 24 hours ahead is pre-selected and labeled for pickup, and costs up to 30% less than the walk-in rate. You can collect the afternoon before your first ski day, swap models at any Charter Sports shop and return your gear to a different location. Groups of 15 or more can ask about group pricing.

If you want to return gear elsewhere, Charter's Vail shops include Highline Vail in West Vail and Lion Square Lodge North in Lionshead.

At Marriott's StreamSide

The shop is inside Marriott's StreamSide at Vail, the timeshare resort whose buildings include Birch, Douglas and Evergreen. You do not need to be a guest to rent here.
