What is in the cases

The house is known for rare and exotic stones, from vivid sapphires to rare diamonds. Its boutique collections, among them Fiore, Dome, Maison, Wave Heart, Capri, Mosaique and Pietra, run across rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Above them sits high jewelry: one-of-a-kind collector pieces in simple settings that let the stone lead, including the pear-shaped Vendome designs and the baguette-framed Portrait collection.

Custom work

Piranesi's Atelier pairs its designers with master artisans who work by hand, either to create a piece from scratch or to revive and reset an older one for the way you wear jewelry now. It is the service to ask about if you have family stones that no longer get worn.

Before you buy

Piranesi notes that many colored gemstones are treated, by heat for rubies and sapphires or oiling for emeralds, as is accepted in the trade, and that treated stones may need extra care over time. Laboratory reports can be requested for most uncertified pieces, at the buyer's cost, and diamond grades are approximate unless a certificate says otherwise.

Inside Four Seasons Vail

The boutique is part of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail, the resort at One Vail Road with its own restaurants, bar and spa, so a visit fits easily around lunch at Tavernetta or a drink at The Remedy.
