Recovery Lab Vail
About
Recovery Lab Vail is a recovery studio inside The Ritz-Carlton Club, Vail in Lionshead, built around the two things that wear visitors down here: the altitude and the skiing. Vail native Harrison Brown and his wife, Kordi Schmidt Brown, opened it after working with compression boots and an oxygen bar for athletes at the Burton U.S. Open.
It suits skiers and riders who want fresher legs mid-week, and visitors from low elevations who are feeling their first days at altitude. Walk-ins are welcome when seats are free, so it also works as a spur-of-the-moment stop after the lifts close.
Oxygen and IV drips
The oxygen bar serves concentrated oxygen with a choice of aromatherapy scents and is charged by the minute. IV vitamin hydration drips come as a short menu of named blends, including one aimed at altitude symptoms, and the studio's medical staff advise on which suits you. NAD+ infusions are by appointment only. Oxygen and IV sessions include time on a foot-and-calf massager.
Legs and recovery
For tired legs there are Normatec compression boots, a localized cryotherapy treatment, red light therapy on a PEMF mat and a mild hyperbaric oxygen chamber. NuCalm, a neuro-acoustic relaxation session with headphones and an eye mask, can be booked alone and is included with hyperbaric sessions. The Ultimate Recovery Treatment combines red light and PEMF, compression boots and NuCalm in one sitting.
Booking
IV therapy, injections, the oxygen bar and compression boots can be booked online. Red light, cryotherapy and hyperbaric sessions should be booked ahead; everything else is by phone. Prices for each treatment are in the FAQ.
Where it sits
Recovery Lab is part of The Ritz-Carlton Club, Vail, the residence club at 728 West Lionshead Circle on the western side of Lionshead, and you do not need to be a Club guest to book. Vail Sports – Ritz Carlton, a ski and snowboard rental shop, is at the same address.
