Vail Racquet Club Mountain Resort is condo-style lodging on 22 acres in East Vail, about 15 to 20 minutes from Vail Village by the free town bus. The draw is what is on the property: an athletic club with a year-round heated outdoor pool and seven tennis courts, both free to resort guests, and a full kitchen in every unit. That suits families, groups and active travelers who would rather have space and recreation than a walk to the lift. It is not ski-in/ski-out, the buildings have stairs and no elevators, and there is no air conditioning.

Getting to Vail from East Vail
The resort is at 4695 Vail Racquet Club Drive, off I-70 exit 180. There is no resort shuttle; instead, two stops on the free Town of Vail bus route are on the property, and the ride to the Vail Transportation Center at Bridge Street generally takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic and season. East Vail is one of the routes on the town's summer bus schedule, which runs June 8 to mid-December in 2026. The resort says a car is not needed to get around Vail, though one helps for airport trips (Eagle County Regional Airport is about 35 minutes away) and for anywhere beyond the bus network.

Condos and townhomes
The resort has one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums and three-bedroom townhomes. Each has a full kitchen, a fireplace and a private patio or balcony, with linens and cookware supplied, and there are five laundry rooms (coin or app-operated). Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out at 10 a.m. Mountain Standard Time, and the guest checking in must be at least 21. The front desk is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The athletic club
Club access is free for guests staying through the resort; outside visitors pay $35 a day. The 6,000-square-foot facility has Technogym equipment, TKO weights, Peloton bikes and a TRX system, with free fitness, spin and yoga classes. The 25-meter outdoor lap pool is heated and open all year. There are three hot tubs, one family tub beside the pool and two quieter ones inside the clubhouse, plus a sauna and steam room in the locker rooms. Massage is by appointment on 970-476-4840.
Outdoors are seven tennis courts, three of them clay, and three pickleball courts. The courts open seasonally, typically May through October or until the snow arrives; resort guests can reserve up to 24 hours ahead through the front desk, and never pay a guest fee for pickleball court time. Racquets and paddles are available to rent in season, a ball machine is $10, and the club runs lessons, camps and clinics for adults and juniors, booked through the same front desk number.
Eating and shopping on site
Après Cafe is on the property. It is privately and independently operated rather than run by the resort, and it keeps seasonal hours, open from early December through April and again from late May through October. It serves hotel guests and other diners alike, with salads, sandwiches, entrées and handmade pizzas. In the off-season it is open 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and Thursday through Sunday, closed Tuesday and Wednesday, and takes no reservations. The Après Cafe and Bar guide covers it in more detail. The resort's own shop, the Mountain Shoppe, sells fitness apparel, swim gear and gifts. With no breakfast service, plan groceries for the kitchen or a meal out.
Trails, creek and Nordic skiing
The property has direct access to mountain trails and Gore Creek, and the Vail Chutes are across from it. Big Horn Park, with a pond and a large playground, is within about a quarter mile. In winter, the Vail Nordic Center is a few minutes away, with 17 km of groomed ski trails and 10 km of snowshoe trails.
Rates, payment and booking
Rates are shown on the resort's booking page, and the price there includes all fees. Full payment is due, and non-refundable, 14 days before arrival in ski season (mid-November to mid-April) and 3 days before arrival otherwise.
