Is there skiing in Vail on New Year's Eve?
Yes, if conditions allow. Vail Resorts plans to open Vail Mountain on Friday, November 13, 2026, so the mountain should have been open about seven weeks by New Year's. How much terrain is open depends on snow, so check Vail webcams before you go.

How do you get around Vail on New Year's Eve?
Walk or take the bus. Vail Village is pedestrian, and the Town of Vail runs a free bus between Vail Village and Lionshead. If you're flying in for the week, see the closest airport to Vail. It will be cold after dark, so dress for standing outside.
