How Ya Doin' Vail
About
How Ya Doin' is an East Coast-style deli with a full bar on Bridge Street, in the middle of Vail Village. It calls itself the Shakedown Test Kitchen and sums itself up in three words: deli, bar, music.
It is a daytime place, open from late morning until late afternoon, which makes it a handy lunch stop between a morning on the mountain or the trails and an evening somewhere else. It suits anyone who wants a proper hoagie without sitting down to a long lunch, and groups who would rather order a cocktail with their sandwich than a coffee.
The hoagies
The menu board is built around East Coast hoagies: an Italian, a Sicilian, roast beef, turkey and a caprese, each in half or whole sizes and served on a choice of a Liscio's sesame seeded roll or an Amoroso unseeded roll. Alongside them are salads, smoothies, açaí bowls and a yogurt parfait for a lighter order.
The bar
The bar pours specialty cocktails, beer on draft and in cans, and wine by the glass, with drip coffee and cold brew for anyone not drinking. Happy hour runs in the afternoon; the times are in the FAQ below.
Where to find it
How Ya Doin' is at 304 Bridge Street, the same address as Shakedown Bar. Bridge Street is the pedestrian heart of Vail Village, so it is an easy walk from the village lifts and lodging.
Catering
The deli caters, which is worth knowing for a ski-group lunch or a gathering in a rental. Quotes are by phone or email, listed in the FAQ.
