What to order

The menu covers Chinese-American standards and a good run of dumplings and buns: Shanghai soup dumplings (xiao long bao), shrimp har gow, pork dumplings steamed or pan-fried, barbecue pork buns and Vietnamese spring rolls. There are house specialties, fusion dishes, moo shu with crepes and hoisin, noodles and fried rice, and entrées come with steamed rice. Gluten-free dishes are marked on the menu.

Lunch and dinner

A separate lunch menu runs in the early afternoon, and the all-day menu covers the evening. Takeout hours are posted on the ordering site; the exact times are in the FAQ below.

Where it is

May Palace is at 2109 North Frontage Road West, on the north side of Interstate 70 in West Vail, on the same stretch of road as Safeway. That makes it an easy add-on to an arrival-day grocery run. Alpine Wine & Spirits shares the same address, if the evening calls for a bottle to go with the takeout.

Before you order

In peak holiday weeks, ordering before the dinner rush is the safer plan. If you plan to eat in, call first: the restaurant's website describes pickup and delivery but does not say whether dine-in seating is currently offered.
