Treatments

The menu runs from the Sonnenalp's own Swedish-style massage and a firmer targeted-relief massage to reflexology, heated stone, a warm herbal poultice massage and a high-altitude massage. Facials include a signature facial, HydraFacial, lymphatic, caviar, gua sha and dermaplaning options, and there are manicures, pedicures, waxing, tinting and multi-hour spa packages with lunch. Adult nail services come with a glass of wine.

Pools, whirlpools and fitness

The pool, whirlpools and fitness center open early and close in the evening, so they work before first chair and after the lifts close. Hotel guests under 16 may use the indoor and outdoor pool areas with an adult; steam rooms, saunas, showers and the fitness center are adults only.

Oxygen bar and spa café

The oxygen bar is priced by the minute and aimed at altitude symptoms such as headaches and fatigue. The spa café serves lighter plates such as salads and ahi tuna crudo alongside Colorado Wagyu sliders and truffle tots, and in summer the pool deck has its own bar.

Before you book

Visitors who are not staying at the hotel must be booked for a treatment to use the facilities, though a weekday day pass is sometimes offered. Arrive 30 minutes early, and allow 24 hours' notice for changes. Children cannot come into treatment rooms, but the hotel's Kids Club can take them during your appointment. The hotel's restaurants and bars are a few steps from the spa: Ludwig's for breakfast and regionally inspired dinners, Swiss Chalet for fondue and raclette, Bully Ranch for burgers and a casual lunch or dinner, Treff Café for coffee and pastries, and the King's Club, a fireside lounge with cocktails and live entertainment.
